Although best known for its salt
pan, don't ignore Etosha National Park 's less visited savannah and
woodland habitats. You may just be treated to the sight of
dueling zebras.
Etosha is an 8000 square mile treasure, hosting 114 species of mammals,
340 species of birds and 110 species of reptiles. In summer,
rains turn the salt pan into a mecca for pelicans, flamingos and other
birds. Gemsbok, zebra and wildebeest are also drawn to the
shallow waters.
The park has
east and west entry gates and three camps: Namutoni, Halali and
Okaukuejo.
